How can you harness the energy of anger to LOVE YOURSELF and feel confident?

We have been conditioned (and sometimes by experience) to believe that anger is a bad thing or that it is destructive.

While it can turn ugly, let’s get back to Anger’s TRUE intentions: to show us our deeper desires, to protect us, and to give us the embodied knowledge that we are powerful, capable and creative.

Anger gets a bad rap!

We need to reclaim it so we can truly heal and know ourselves, to be back in alignment with our ease and truth.

In this Episode, we explore:

  • The messages we get about anger and what stops us from expressing
  • The depression, numbness, lack of confidence, shame, physical illnesses and other symptoms that happen when we repress our anger
  • Global and community repercussions of not claiming our own anger
  • How to work with your own anger to discharge the energy, use it intentionally and constructively
  • Respecting the power of anger and it’s true desires: to protect our creative freedom, safety, and where we need to grow

Check out the Healing Experientials to support a completion of your anger/fight responses, feeling more ease in your body as you release the tension of the “red energy.”

This episode comes with three additional experientials which are released in the week following this podcast.

1:02:56 The Embody Community

This episode is a rerun of a previous episode on The Embody Podcast while I am on a short restorative hiatus.

When you’re depressed, paralyzed, shut down, or dissociated — knowing what is happening can support healing and a compassionate look at the body and how it’s trying to protect us and adapt. This episode is a practical and scientifically-based discussion about understanding the basics of the nervous system in overwhelm or trauma. By noticing the signs, you can support your body in feeling more safety, resilience, and capacity with very basic tools.

We are so used to going in the hard stuff of our lives and overriding and pushing beyond what our bodies need. This can create an auto override and autopilot — are we really here in our hearts and bodies?

In this episode, I share many signs of nervous system overwhelm, 12 things to do to support and heal trauma, a bit of Polyvagal Theory and Somatic Experiencing, and the way our nervous systems can be affected in relationships. The more I have understood the nervous system, the more compassion I have been able to feel for others and humanity.

How can we understand our nervous systems through animal behavior? Find out in this episode. I also bring forward questions I like to ask myself: How much of me is here? Where is my awareness/what is the quality of it? How am I in my body?

Next week, I will share three experientials that are connected to this episode.

The Body reflects any habitual patterns in your life — shake up the body’s movement and gestures to create something new in your life! The body needs to integrate the new territory and energy to full inhabit what’s unfamiliar.

Whether it is more abundance, the ability to receive love, a shift towards a new way of being, etc… this can support that in an embodied way. What’s the opposite movement of the gesture that comes with your typical story, your problem, or what you always experience?

This process supports you to develop a pathway between what you are used to and the new road where the body starts to know it organically, fluidly, and flexibly.

With all the dismantling and systemic change going on, change the system within to give everything you are doing more weight and life energy. The Body reflects any habitual patterns in your life — shake up the body’s movement and gestures to create something new in your life! It’s uncomfortable when someone discards or disavows a hurt part of themselves, their shadow, and it comes lashing towards you. Or, when you’re triggered and you need some distance and boundary to feel emotionally safe. This experiential is to support sensing the context of the other person, creating harmony with distance, and restoring energetic and physical boundaries.

“Not taking things personally” can be a tough job being a human with emotions and a body! When criticism, harshness, judgment, lashing out, gaslighting, and other reactions from another person can hit us where it hurts, here are some tools to support healing and resolving where it hurts so it’s not just a forced “tough skin” but an organic neutrality or wholeness that leaves us able to be present to what is.

Work with ways to heal the shadow and allow harmony where others push their shadow parts your way. A deep love for yourself, which is loving for all.

At the very least, to digest the emotions we feel when triggered and to experience separation and boundary that gives us room to breathe, feel safer, and more loved from the inside.

Two experientials follow this episode next week where I guide you through a shift through distance and space, boundary, forgiveness, and separation from dependency, as well as to look towards and heal the part of us that gets wounded.
